LA Cox (she/her) holds a B.A. from Queen’s University (Kingston, ON), a B.Th. from McGill University (Montreal, QC) and a M.Div. and M.A. from University of Toronto / Toronto School of Theology. Throughout her education, LA worked in the publishing industry (London, UK), as a minister for the United Church of Canada (Toronto, ON), and as a communications professional for faith-based NGOs, including the Canadian Council of Churches (Toronto, ON), the World Council of Churches (Geneva, Switzerland), and Religions for Peace (New York, USA).
LA is currently a doctoral candidate in the conjoint PhD in Theological Studies program offered by the University of Toronto (UofT) / Toronto School of Theology (TST), where her interdisciplinary studies explore intersectional feminism, theories of decolonization and neurodiversity studies for the purpose of developing liberation theologies relevant to neurodivergent people..
LA serves the neurodivergent community through past work as vice-chair for a municipal DEI committee and currently for a county-based accessibility advisory committee wherein she advocates for local contexts to be more neurodiversity-affirming. She is also a member of the Re-Storying Autism Collective. LA identifies as a multiply neurodivergent, cis-pansexual, white settler, and shares life with her partner and child in a wonderfully neurodiverse, vegan family of people and animals.
